Document Search Settings

The Document Search feature in Generate AI PC lets you upload, configure, and manage your documents for seamless search and interaction.

Access Settings

  1. Open the sidebar and select Document Search.
  2. Click Settings in the sidebar to open configuration panel.

Document Management

Choose how to add and organize your documents:

Pick Folder

  • Upload an entire folder at once.
  • Ideal for bulk-ingesting many files for embedding.

Pick Documents

  • Select individual files to upload.
  • Use when you only need specific documents.

Manage Documents

  • See a list of all uploaded files.
  • Check status, storage location, or delete entries.

Clicking Manage Documents opens a panel displaying all previously uploaded files.

  • Document List: All uploaded filenames.
  • Status: Completed or Processing.
  • Integration: Storage location (Local disk, Cloud service).
  • Delete: Permanently remove a document.

Extraction Precision

  • High – Optimized for complex layouts and tables.
  • Standard – Fast processing for plain‑text docs.

Embedding Device

  • CPU – Default on all systems.
  • NPU – Use if supported for faster embeddings.

NPU for Vector Database Creation

  • NPU can accelerate vector creation but may occasionally require an application restart if corruption occurs during LLM inference.
  • On NVIDIA/AMD hardware, CPU embeddings tend to be more stable.
  • Enable NPU on Intel platforms to boost performance.

Open Integrations in the sidebar to link external services and fetch documents directly.

  • Browse integrations you can connect:
    • Link accounts: Google Drive, OneDrive, Slack, Airtable, QuickBooks, DocuSign
    • Coming soon: Monday.com, Jira, Confluence
